Grace and peace be yours
in abundance
through
the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
His divine power has given us
everything we need for life and godliness
through
our knowledge of him
who called us
by his own glory and goodness.
Through these
He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that
through them
you may participate in the divine nature and
escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason,
make every effort to
add to your faith goodness; and
to goodness, knowledge;
and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverance;
and to perseverance, godliness;
and to godliness, brotherly kindness;
and to brotherly kindness, love.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure,
they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive
in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But if anyone does not have them,
he is nearsighted and blind, and
has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
2 Peter 1:3-9 NIV
1 Praise the Lord.
How good it is to sing praises to our God,
how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.
6 The Lord sustains the humble but
casts the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make music to our God on the harp.
8 He covers the sky with clouds;
he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his delight in the legs of a man;
11 the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.
praise your God, O Zion,
14 He grants peace to your borders and
satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
19 He has revealed his word to Jacob,
his laws and decrees to Israel.
20 He has done this for no other nation;
they do not know his laws.
Praise the Lord.
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
4 One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me;
at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.
be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, O Lord;
lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.
13 I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and
wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27 NIV
who
revere My name,
the sun of righteousness
will rise
with healing in its wings, and
you will go out and leap
like calves released from the stall.
the words of my mouth
and
be pleasing in your sight,
Moses said to the Lord, "You have been telling me,
but you have not let me know whom you will send with me.
You have said,
you have found favor with me.'
so I may know you
and continue to find favor with you.
I will give you rest."
Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"
And the Lord said to Moses,
I am pleased with you and I know you by name."
Then Moses said,
glory."
I will proclaim my name,
the Lord,
in your presence.
I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy,
I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Exodus 33:12-19 NIV
I praise you Lord with all my heart. In the face of false "gods" I sing praises to your love and faithfulness. I exalt your name above all else.
When I call, you answer me. You embolden me and strengthen my heart. Though you live in heaven above, you are intimate with those who love you.
You do not reveal yourself to the proud and unloving, you humble them. All will submit to you, praise you, and sing of your ways. You make known your great glory!
Though unloving people live all around me, you O Lord are my protector. You exercise your power against the acts of my enemies. With your mighty hand you keep me safe.
You, O Lord are fulfilling your purpose in me. You do not abandon the work you are crafting. Your love for me endures forever!
A prayer of praise by Ron, based on Psalm 138 in English
Psalm 詩 篇 138 New Chinese Version (Traditional)
The Word of God is living and active,
sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men.
The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report,
if there is any virtue
and if there is anything praiseworthy —
meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned
and received and heard and saw in me, these
do, and the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4
They shall fear the name of the I AM from the west,
and His glory from the rising of the sun.
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.
